As the co-founder of the scholarship foundation, she has played a pivotal role in advancing its mission to empower young Nigerians through education. Her passion for uplifting lives, particularly among women and children, has made her a key force behind many transformative initiatives.

With a background in administration and social development, Dr. Unoma Akpabio has consistently championed programs that promote education, mentorship, and skills acquisition. Owouko Nsikak Urua is a dedicated medical student from Ikot Abia Idem in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Her academic journey began at Methodist Primary School, Ikot Abia Idem/Ikot Enwang, where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). She proceeded to Ideal Secondary Commercial School, Urua Offiong Etor Udo, earning her West African Senior School Certificate (WASSC).

Currently, she is a 300-level student of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Uyo, where she is committed to academic excellence and professional development. Her passion for medicine is driven by a deep desire to serve humanity through quality healthcare and medical innovation.

The Sen. Dr. Godswill Obot Akpabio Education Foundation Scholarship has been a pivotal support in her academic journey, easing financial challenges and allowing her to focus on her studies. With this opportunity, she remains determined to complete her medical training and contribute meaningfully to the healthcare sector, ultimately improving lives and making a lasting impact in her community.

Etieno Akaninyene Udoyen is a dedicated student of Nursing Science at the University of Uyo, currently in her fourth year. A native of Ikono Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, she is the eldest of four siblings.

Her academic journey began at First Baptist Children’s School, followed by Community Secondary School, where she consistently demonstrated excellence and leadership as a class prefect. Deeply rooted in Christian values, she upholds integrity, humility, and hard work.

Etieno is passionate about healthcare and has actively participated in medical outreaches to gain hands-on experience in patient care. Despite challenges, she maintains an impressive academic record while engaging in extracurricular activities that enhance her professional growth.

With a strong commitment to the nursing profession, she aspires to become a skilled and compassionate nurse, dedicated to saving lives and making meaningful contributions to the healthcare sector.

Rebecca Godwin Dan is a native of Ikot Obong Ediene in Abak Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Born on September 16, 1998, she has consistently demonstrated dedication to academic excellence and personal growth.

Her educational journey began at Amamfon Nursery and Primary School, Ikot-Ekpeyak Ikono, Uyo, where she obtained her First School Leaving Testimonial in 2008. She then proceeded to Comprehensive Secondary School, Ediene Abak, earning her Senior Secondary Certificate in 2014.

Currently, Rebecca is a 300-level student in the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Vocational Education, at the University of Uyo. Her academic pursuit has been made possible through the scholarship grant from His Excellency, Senator Dr. Godswill Obot Akpabio, awarded through the Senator Godswill Akpabio Education Foundation.

With a deep passion for research and knowledge management, she aspires to become a leading information analyst, dedicated to acquiring, organizing, and disseminating relevant and up-to-date information to a global audience.

Beyond academics, Rebecca is a skilled makeup artist and hairstylist, combining creativity with hard work. She enjoys singing, reading, and researching. Guided by her favorite quote, “Life is a teacher,” she remains committed to continuous learning and personal development

Wisdom Ime Umoren is a dedicated law student at the University of Uyo, currently in his fourth year. A native of Ikot Idem village in Odoro Ikot clan, Essien Udim Local Government Area, he has shown a deep passion for legal advocacy and social justice.

He began his academic journey at Christ the King Nursery and Primary School, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 2013. He then proceeded to Queen of Apostles Seminary, Afaha-Obong, Abak, for his secondary education, where his interest in law and governance began to take shape.

With a firm belief in the power of the law to bridge societal divides and promote justice, he has actively engaged with various legal issues, including human rights and environmental law. His strong commitment to advocacy stems from his desire to protect the rights of vulnerable individuals and contribute to meaningful societal change.

Wisdom remains committed to using his legal knowledge to empower others, champion justice, and support his community in navigating legal challenges. His dedication to academic excellence and leadership reflects his aspiration to make a lasting impact in the legal profession and beyond.

Effiong Josiah Eyakndue is a dedicated and resilient student from Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Born on February 6, he exemplifies discipline, perseverance, and a strong Christian faith. As the first of three siblings, his academic journey was marked by initial challenges, including delayed admission. However, his unwavering determination ultimately secured him a place at the University of Uyo.

A multifaceted individual, Effiong has a wide range of interests, including driving, drawing, singing, praying, studying, research, tutoring, and engaging in intellectually stimulating games. His commitment to academic excellence was recognized in his third year when he was awarded a prestigious scholarship from Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio and his wife, alongside the planning committee. This support brought immense relief to both him and his family, reinforcing his gratitude for the life-changing opportunity.

Effiong encourages fellow students to remain steadfast in their studies and to place their trust in God. His journey stands as a testament to perseverance and divine favor. As he continues to advance academically and personally, his commitment to excellence, faith, and service remains unwavering. With a solid foundation in both spirituality and education, he is poised for a future of impact and success.
